Boater World
Welcome to the boater world, a world that can make a big difference to your life. The enjoyment is tremendous, whether it be for business, pleasure or just to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Being on the water and enjoying the outdoor life, whether you are fishing for a living, competing in races or tournaments or just pure fun and family togetherness.
I was fortunate to grown up on the beautiful islands of Bermuda, truly a boater world paradise, which has beautiful white and pink sand beaches and very friendly people. Located approximately six hundred miles due east of the United States North Carolina coastline and the northern tip of the famous Bermuda Triangle were boating played a major part of everyday life, whether fishing of food or transporting goods and supplies from the United States and the Caribbean islands to the south.
I remember waiting on the shoreline for my father and my uncles to return from sailing or fishing in their wooden boats they had made from Bermuda cedar.
I knew then that once I was old enough I wanted to be a part of the boater world. I started by building a small wooden boat to row around the shoreline and catch a few fish. I attended the Bermuda Technical Institute and on graduating I trained at the local power station as an electrical apprentice and then the company sent me to the United Kingdom for a year to further my training and I had the pleasure of training at power stations in the Shetland Isles and Guernsey of the Channel Islands and they turned out to be truly a boater world with a difference, the Shetland Isles were famous for the Shetland ponies and fishing was their main form of income before the discovering oil in the north sea. Guernsey just off the coast of France was more of a vacation island were folks would travel too in there pleasure boats and yachts, the twenty foot rise and fall in tide made fishing very difficult as the boats could only sailing in and out on high tide and if the weather made up they could not return home if the tide was low. On returning home I knew I had to return to the boater world, so I purchased a twenty foot Sea-Ray boat with a 165hp inboard/outboard engine, it was bright yellow and sat six people and I named it “Sweet Temptation”, even though it was small boat my childhood dream had come true I was really part of the boater world and what a difference it made in my life. Bermuda looked so much different from the water, I was able to see places I never knew existed, I met new friends on the ocean, friends with large pleasure and fishing boats, enjoyed watching powerboat racing, I learned to water ski and started fishing, the high point was landing a 600 pound blue marlin. I was so pleased with the boater world life style that I wanted to share it with others. I remember going out to the cruises ships and picking up tourist and showing them my beautiful island from the sea and through this I made many friends from the American east coast, so whenever I traveled I had many friend to visit and this give me a chance to see the boater world on a larger scale, I went to mariners, boatyards, boat shows and lakes to see the wonderful line of motor boats and yachts, fishing and sailing vessels. I was really fascinated with the new line of Sea-Ray boats, the design and facilities abroad were better than we have in some of our homes, they are really becoming floating homes were you can spend a weekend or vacation with the family. Just imagine the fun you can have with the kids, swimming, skiing, snorkeling, fishing, riding a jet ski watercraft, wind surfing, barbequing and enjoying the great outdoors. If you combine modern technology with the boater world the options are endless, you can even work aboad your boat and still be in touch with the office or you can sail to the many islands in the Caribbean on your sail boat or yacht and leave the cold of winter behind. If you are interested in joining the boater world you can check the many boating sites for boating manufacturers like Searay, Bayliner or Trojan just to name a few, were you can check for your dreamboat or with the rising oil prices sailing or yachting might interest you more and if you cannot sail you can also find information about sailing lessons on line.
If all the fun and excitement is beyond your years or looking for something more laid back there is a boater world of cruising, you can take a yachting vacation to relax and explode may countries or cruise on a large ocean liner were you can eat to your hearts content, be pampered in style, dress up in your fancy clothes, dance, enjoy live entertainment, walk the decks, exercise, have a massage or steam bath, play bingo, gamble or just lay back, relax and enjoy the sun and beautiful views.
